Avnet names Jamal Qaffaf General Manager Middle East
Dubai, 29 June 2009:
Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), announces the appointment of Jamal Qaffaf as General Manager Middle East, effective on the 1st of July.
In his new role, Qaffaf will be responsible for Avnet Technology Solutions business serving as the General Manager for the Middle East including United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He will report directly to Sukh Rayat, SVP Sales Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA. "Jamal's experience in the IT Channel business in the Middle East as well as his proven success record will serve us well expanding our business in the region. He will help our business partners to accelerate their success by creating and delivering effective solutions that address the business challenges of end-user customers", Rayat said. "Jamal and his dedicated team will strengthen our market position and increase our services and solutions offering across the Middle East region."
Before Avnet, Qaffaf was responsible for the IT reseller Qatar Datamation Systems Company managing a team of more than 80 people. Prior he held a number of leading sales and business development roles with other IT resellers like Emitac and Leo Systems and thus understands the Business Partner environment very well.
