Overview:

This foundation workshop is designed for BMC Professional Services employees, BMC partner consultants, and customers responsible for implementing BMC Remedy IT Service Management 7.x. Through a combination of lecture and lab exercises, participants learn how to install and configure the BMC Remedy IT Service Management 7.x suite of applications. Additionally, this workshop will provide an introductory overview to some of the basic implementation planning techniques.

Objectives:

» Complete a basic install for each of the following BMC Remedy applications: » BMC Remedy AR System 7.x » BMC Remedy Approval Server 7.x » BMC Remedy Assignment Engine 7.x » BMC Atrium CMDB 2.x » BMC Remedy Service Desk 7.x, which includes: » BMC Remedy Incident Management 7.x » BMC Remedy Problem Management 7.x » BMC Remedy Change Management 7.x » BMC Remedy Asset Management 7.x » BMC Service Level Management 7.x » Describe the ITSM solution architecture and how the individual applications interact within the overall solution. » List and explain the basic product features and functionality for each of the ITSM applications. » Identify and perform the consultant-level configuration tasks necessary for the platform and applications to function properly to facilitate a successful deployment. » Identify and discuss basic planning techniques to facilitate successful implementations of the ITSM solution.

Intended Audience:

New Users - This course is an introductory course designed to teach basic concepts and familiarize the student with the functionality of the product.

Prerequisites:

Recommended: BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Administering – Part 3 Experience with an earlier version of ITSM or ITSP is preferred, but not necessary Required Courses: BMC Atrium CMDB 2.0: Implementation Best Practices BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Administering – Part 1 (WBT) BMC Remedy AR System 7.x: Administering – Part 2 BMC Remedy IT Service Management 7.x: Application Administering Essentials (WBT) ITIL Foundation
