Avnet Rises to No. 144 on Fortune 500

Avnet, Inc., (NYSE: AVT) a global technology marketing, distribution and services company, climbed to No. 144 on the annual Fortune 500 list of America's largest corporations and has also been named to Fortune’s top 20 most profitable tech companies .

With $17.95 billion in sales in fiscal 2008, Avnet was ranked first among companies based in its home state – Arizona.  In addition, Avnet was recently named No. 1 by Fortune on its “Most Admired Companies” list  in the Wholesaler: Electronics category.  Avnet was ranked first in eight out of nine reputation attributes, including innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of service and global competitiveness.
