Overzicht:

The Expert Technical Security Products Training Course is a hands-on, five-day instructor-led course that teaches expert-level concepts and best practices necessary for implementation planning, installation, configuration, security management and system administration of the TippingPoint solution.

Through interactive lectures and hands-on labs, students will learn to implement the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and the Security Management System (SMS) using the standard interface modes. Students will also acquire in-depth expert knowledge of how to tune and configure a TippingPoint IPS for optimum performance on their network and learn advanced configuration management of multiple IPS's using the Security Management System.

Doelstellingen:

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: Understand and describe the architecture of the IPS, including the underlying enabling technology Perform specification and implementation planning of an IPS based network security solution in an enterprise network environment Install and configure an IPS for advanced feature options o Transparent Network High Availability configuration o Zero-power High Availability configuration Complete CLI and Web-based management tasks for an IPS, including: o OBE (Out of Box Experience) o Basic and Advanced tuning of all filter categories for security specific security posture System updates (Digital Vaccines, TOS updates) Perform advanced system troubleshooting o IPS performance management o Filter configuration and analysis Perform advanced IPS administration o Advanced CLI commands o System snapshots o Threat Suppression Engine configuration Perform advanced filter management o Traffic Thresholds and Baselines o Rate-Limiting P2P and other misuse traffic o Traffic Management filter configuration o Packet captures o Advanced Distributed Denial of Service o Action Set and Notification Contact configuration Perform advanced reporting o SYSLOG notification o Exporting data o Embedded reporting Understand in detail and describe the architecture of the SMS Utilize the SMS client and command line interface (CLI) to install, configure and manage an SMS o Configure SMS High Availability o Configure Radius authentication Use the SMS to manage multiple IPS's o IPS Configuration o Digital Vaccine and TOS update o IPS performance management Understand the full reporting capabilities of an SMS o SMS API for data extraction o Dashboard configuration Understand the SMS update capabilities Understand security profiles configuration and distribution Perform attack analysis using a TippingPoint SMS Back up and restore an SMS database
