Toshiba Europe Storage Device Division (SDD) has remained at the forefront of the storage industry for over 30 years and markets high quality optical and hard disk drives to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators and distributors throughout Europe. Throughout its history, Toshiba SDD has pioneered the design and development of small form factor storage devices and set many of the industry standards for HDD technology. 

As one of the first companies to identify the need for high capacity, high performance storage solutions beyond notebook PCs, Toshiba's HDD technology can be found inside the world's leading mobile phones, GPS navigation systems, portable media players and entertainment systems. The company also pioneered the development of automotive grade HDDs and to date, 15 of the world's leading car equipment manufacturers have incorporated Toshiba HDDs into their car equipment products. Toshiba also leads the industry uptake of the next generation HD DVD format. As the first vendor to deliver market ready HD DVD drives for implementation in next generation notebook and desktop PCs it is working with leading studios and authoring houses to ensure the worldwide proliferation of the format.
