Avnet launches major Unified Communications push
Bracknell, Berks, 21 January 2009:
- Partner launch event 22 January - Bracknell
- Unique integrated offering of unified voice, video & messaging
- Significant opportunities for both new and existing partners
Avnet Technology Solutions has announced that it is launching a major initiative in the Unified Communications (UC) solutions area. The initiative commences with a launch event on 22nd January at The Resource, Bracknell, at which Avnet will announce its UC strategy to both existing and new Business Partners.
Wayne Gratton, Director, Avnet Technology Solutions commented, "Avnet has invested in a specialist Unified Communications team and we are now ready to unveil our vision and strategy to our channel partners and strategic vendors. Our research and development efforts over the last two years has resulted in our standards based "Modular Open Architecture" (MOA). MOA is designed to help channel partners enhance and extend their customers' existing investment and infrastructure by guiding them through a UC roadmap with ROI goals at each step of the way. It also means that partners can use components from our MOA to complement their existing vendor alliances."
Further to this, Avnet's resources are 100% focused on the channel so our Business Partners can feel secure in the knowledge that Avnet will only ever have end-user contact in conjunction with them. In the voice channel this is a fairly unique proposition.
Avnet, who is developing channels for Unified Communications technologies from leading vendors such as Nortel, ShoreTel, Samsung, TANDBERG, IBM and AudioCodes, considers UC as a significant technology growth area. Through its Unified Communications team, Avnet provides a wide range of value-add support services to its Business Partner community of Systems Integrators and Value Added Resellers.
Gratton continued, "Unified Communications by its very nature can appear to be a complex and tangled web of integration and co-operation between disparate islands of technology, and indeed it is. However, it need not be so complex as to deter strong channel partners from taking advantage of the huge growth in this sector. When corporate OPEX and CAPEX are under pressure and government organisations have strong environmental and productivity targets, Unified Communications is one of the few areas in IT to continue growth in times of economic austerity."
Given the various disciplines in UC, Avnet can help Business Partners to find other partners to collaborate with or can help them to invest in their own skills with training and vendor introductions. Either way, Avnet has a strong offering for any Business Partner interested in Unified Communications."
