Extending Storage Area Networks over Distance

Overview:
SAN extension over distance is becoming an important requirement for business continuity and disaster tolerance.This course examines all of the techniques available today to extend SANs outside of the single data centre. It looks at the applications driving SAN extension. Fibre based Metropolitan techniques are discussed, as are the protocols for running Fibre Channel over IP. Design considerations and practical constraints will be examined in detail, to enable the student to be able to evaluate and recommend suitable solutions. Intended Audience:
