What is HP's Customer Asset Programme (CAP)?
Managing a complex, multi vendor IT infrastructure is a massive challenge. Controlling IT assets, mitigating risks and maintaining quality IT services are critical activities for any organisation.
In addition to the standard SCS discount there are extra discounts of up to 10% available for incremental business.

HP CAP can help your customers to gain better control of their IT environment, maximise the return on IT investments, reduce risk of business downtime and ensure that they are delivering the service their customers demand.
HP CAP consists of a non invasive physical audit and/or "HP Asset" (network discovery tool), in which asset data is collected. The physical audit requiures no system downtime, is non invasive and collects data by external inspection, this method has been widely used on customer sites for a number of years.
Who Would Benefit?
- End user companies with HP or Third party Maintenance contracts that expire within 90 days
- End user companies with multi vendor contracts with varying expiry dates
- End user companies who wish to ensure that all assets are covered.
The Audit Service collects the following hardware information
- server name and location
- model name and number
- server manufacturer and serial number
- storage and network products
- current support service levels.
The audit also collects software information for HP-UX, Tru64 and OpenVMS proprietarty operating systems. Using operating system commands to list internal options HP is also able to collect information on multi vendor operating systems.
