What’s involved in the assessment?
- A specialist thermal assessor will spend time with your customer’s staff and key suppliers, observing the IT environment and the processes at work within it
- They will examine the relationship between space, power and cooling of the datacentre
- An understanding of cooling load against cooling capacity
- Observations of airflow management, heat recirculation or under-floor and over-head airflow obstructions
- Examining racking practices including row orientation and placement
- A clear picture of cable management, raised floor paneling, diffusers, cable cut-outs and perimeter wall penetrations
- A gap analysis of the customer’s IT environment today and the position if best practice was applied for high-density equipment
- At the end of the process your customer will receive a written report and the gap analysis, highlighting their energy efficiency opportunity with specific recommendations for change
