HP Care Pack services with Defective Media Retention
HP recently announced the introduction of HP Care Pack services with Defective Media Retention (DMR) which allows customers to ensure their data safe and secure by maintaining control over defective storage disks for just a 10% uplift in their Care Pack expenditure.
How does it work?
DMR means your customer retains control of their disks and data at all times, a critical business proposition in an age where data leaks are big news and the technology exists to restore data to even professionally wiped disks.
If a disk that is covered by the retention option malfunctions, the customer calls HP for support. An HP support agent will diagnose the system problem, dispatch an engineer (if needed) and provide a replacement disk. The customer then retains the defective disk drive.
Who will benefit?
DMR is specifically designed for companies that:
- Need to control and secure their classified, proprietary and confidential data
- Are subject to current data privacy regulations
- Want a simpler, more cost-effective solution when choosing not to return a malfunctioning disk drive.
