Volume Licensing – Academic
All your education sector customers can get simple yet flexible volume-based pricing through the Academic Volume Licensing programme – with the option to choose between subscription or perpetual licensing.
Subscription licensing programmes
The old campus agreement, now known as The Enrolment for Education Solutions (EES) offers academic customers of all sizes, a simple way to acquire Microsoft software and services under a single, subscription agreement.
Those with a minimum of 1,000 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees can license by signing the Campus and School Agreement and the EES; while customers with less than 1,000 FTE employees can sign the simplified Open Value Subscription Agreement for Education Solutions (OVS-ES).
EES offers participating institutions the benefits of:
- Easy compliance: Through the simplicity and predictability of counting FTE employees just once a year
- Customised solutions: Easily add additional products at any time during the subscription term, to deliver the right mix of technology and services
- Simplified asset management: Self-service tools, such as the Volume Licensing Service Centre, enable customers to easily track and manage software assets and Software Assurance benefits
- Low administration: Subscription licensing eliminates the need to track licences for the selected desktop platform products on every PC
- Student licensing: Through Student Option, customers can licence students for use of one or more of the EES products on a personally owned computer or an institution-owned computer designated for a student's exclusive use.
Perpetual licensing programmes
With this licensing programme customers can acquire perpetual licences (that is, they own the licences), while eliminating the costs and packaging of retail software. They have the option of enrolling their licences in Software Assurance, which entitles them to product upgrades that release during the agreement term, eLearning courses, and more.
