Enhanced Recovery Wizard
With new wizard functionality, you can now create an all-in-one backup and recovery USB device to boot and recover your system. This new functionality will provide administrators with the ability to transform a USB device into a bootable Symantec Recovery Disk device and backup destination to help reduce boot time.
New Symantec Recovery Disk Source
You can now select an .ISO image as the source for a custom recovery disk. Providing additional flexibility, this new capability helps speed up the recovery process.

Backup Exec System Recovery customers with active maintenance
Backup Exec System Recovery customers (inc "LiveState Recovery" or "V2i Protector") with active maintenance are eligible to upgrade to the latest version free of charge.
They will receive a letter from Symantec directing them to: https://fileconnect.symantec.com/licensing
Customers simply select their language and enter their existing serial number. In turn they will be able to download the product directly from this site or request that physical media be sent to them.
- Backup Exec System Recovery customers without / expired maintenance
Existing Backup Exec System Recovery customers without maintenance or expired maintenance can upgrade to the latest version at 35% off MSRP using the Academic, Government, Express and Rewards upgrade skus. The 35% discount applies to software license MSRP only and does not apply to support or maintenance. The 35% off MSRP software license discount is already factored into all upgrade skus.
- Competitive Upgrades
Competitive upgrade skus are available for new customers using a competitive system recovery solution who wish to migrate to Symantec System Recovery 2011.
