Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager automates technical control and security configuration assessments ensuring a consistent, centralised approach to evaluating your security and compliance posture.

What's New:

  • Carry out agent-based and agent-less data assessments from a single server, reducing the amount of infrastructure needed for deployment and simplifying server configuration and management
  • Out-of-the-box data feed mappings using pre-packaged connectors. Automatically tag  each piece of 3rd party data you bring into Control Compliance Suite to an asset and relate it to a control in your environment
  • Easily normalize and analyse data from multiple different sources with a unique and highly scalable data framework
  • Combine rich native assessment data from Control Compliance Suite with 3rd party data in one central location, normalize it and make it available for deeper analysis
  • View a multitude of data points associated with a control for a ‘composite view’ of IT risk.

As the result of the product architecture simplification, BindView (agent-less) and ESM (agent-based) are consolidated into one single set of CCS Standards Manager. In addition, we have consolidated NetWare, Windows and Unix SKUs into a single set of multi-platform SKUs.

We are also introducing a content key for use in quarterly product content updates. Customers who maintain valid support contracts with Symantec would use the content key to get quarterly content updates.

Detailed entitlement mappings are as follows:

  • Symantec bv-Control™ user licenses for NetWare or Windows platform will be mapped to Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager Directory Services user licenses cross-platform
  • Symantec bv-Control™ server licenses for Unix, NetWare or Windows will be mapped to Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager server licenses cross-platform
  • Symantec bv-Control™ Database Instance licenses will be mapped to Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager Database Instance licenses
  • Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager ESM Database Instance licenses will be mapped to Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager Database Instance licenses
  • Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager ESM Desktop Agent licenses will be mapped to Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager Directory Services user licenses

Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) Policy Manager 11.0

Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite 11.0 Policy Manager reduces the cost and complexity of policy management by automating the entire IT policy lifecycle for multiple regulations and frameworks.

What’s New:

Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Policy Manager 11.0 features an enhanced rich underlying architecture which provides a solid foundation to build IT GRC processes. In addition, CCS Policy Manager is standardized on licensing meter of "per managed user". Managed User” means a User who is managed, monitored and/or protected by the Licensed Software. The number of Users required to be licensed shall be equal to the number of individual persons, devices and/or individual user directory accounts that are managed, monitored and/or protected by the Licensed Software, as applicable. Purchasing of CCS Policy Manager requires the purchase of CCS Policy Manager Base plus additional managed user licenses depending on the size of the enterprises.

We are also introducing a content key for use in quarterly product content updates. Customers who maintain valid support contracts with Symantec would use the content key to get quarterly content updates.

Using customizable dashboards and reports security leaders can deliver targeted risk metrics to multiple different stakeholders to drive awareness, action and accountability. CCS Risk Manager is licensed on a per managed user basis. Managed User” means a User who is managed, monitored and/or protected by the Licensed Software.  The number of Users required to be licensed shall be equal to the number of individual persons, devices and/or individual user directory accounts that are managed, monitored and/or protected by the Licensed Software, as applicable. Purchasing of CCS Risk Manager requires purchase of CCS Risk Manager Base with additional managed user licenses depending on the size of the enterprises.

For each business entity (e.g.  business process, group or function) you can define business-centric risk objectives, group together all IT assets associated with the entity and apply and monitor the relevant controls. Working with Business Unit owners, you can define appropriate risk thresholds, and deliver customized Web-based dashboards and reports illustrating how you are doing against these risk thresholds. Finally, using ‘what if’ analysis CCS Risk Manager allows you to project risk reduction over time, as scheduled remediation activities take place.

Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) ISO Add-on 11.0

 Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) ISO Add-on allows you to communicate IT risk in business-relevant terms, prioritize remediation efforts based on risk and automate processes to improve overall security and compliance posture .

What’s New:

  • Licensing model has been changed from one time perpetual license into annual subscription model. Each license purchase enables up to 5 managed users to access the content. Maintenance Support cost is embedded in the annual subscription fee. ISO Add-on v10.5 SKUs will be obsolete and no longer transactable immediately on 7, May 2012
  • Additional ISO contents will be rolled out in the quarterly Product Content Update process.

Upgrade Information:

Customers who had purchased earlier than 10.5 versions of ISO Add-on need to purchase a crossgrade SKU to transition to the annual subscription model and start receiving additional content. Customers who purchased v10.5 subscription model can continue their subscription, assess quarterly content updates and renew at the end of the 12 month term. Customer may choose to stay on with v10.0 or older versions of ISO Add-on but will not receive the additional ISO content.
