Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 10.5 Standards Manager, Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 10.5 Policy Manager and Symantec bv-Control™ 10.5. This new version will replace Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 10.0 Standards Manager, Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 10.0 Policy Manager and Symantec bv-Control™ 10.0. CCS Standards Manager reduces cost and complexity by automating technical controls checks for the entire enterprise across a broad range of hardware and software platforms. CCS Policy Manager allows organizations to automatically manage their entire IT policy lifecycle from policy definition and review, to approval, distribution and tracking of acceptances and exceptions. IT reduces costs and eliminates redundant efforts by deduplicating common controls across multiple regulations and frameworks.
What’s new:
- Public Sector Certifications – CCS 10.5 includes critical capabilities and certifications for our public sector customers including; SCAP validation, FIPS 140-2 support and FDCC support for Windows® XP and Windows Vista®
- Enhanced dashboard management – CCS 10.5 brings enhancements to increase dashboard scalability and performance, as well as facilitate information-sharing across the organization
- Integration with Symantec™ Protection Center – CCS 10.5 allows CCS dashboard panels to be included in the holistic security view provided by Symantec Protection Center
- New healthcare-focused security awareness content – CCS 10.5 introduces new training content to support customers rolling out security awareness programs to meet the requirements of HIPAA and HITECH to protect Personal Health Information (PHI).
Upgrade Information:
- Existing bv-Control and CCS Standards Manager customers who are current on maintenance are entitled to upgrade to version 10.5 at no additional cost. Please note: This release does not include CCS Standards Manager ESM, Response Assessment Manager or Vulnerability Manager
- Existing CCS Standards Manager ESM customers under valid maintenance agreements are entitled to transfer some, or all of their agent-based licenses to the applicable CCS Standards Manager agentless license. They can also purchase licenses of other products such as CCS Policy Manager and CCS Response Assessment Manager at an additional cost. Please contact your account representative regarding the details of the License Transfer Process
- Crossgrades: Existing bv-Control customers with current maintenance can crossgrade to CCS by purchasing the CCS crossgrade SKU for the platform which their bv-Control licenses cover. The crossgrade SKU entitles them to the Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager. Existing bv-Control customers can choose not to crossgrade to CCS.

NEW - Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite Data Protection Extension (CCSDPE) Bundle 10.5

Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite 10.5 Data Protection Extension (CCSDPE) Bundle. This new version will replace Symantec™ CCS Data Protection Extension (CCSDPE) 9.0 Bundle.
Symantec™ Control Compliance Suite (CCS) and Symantec™ Critical Systems Protection (CSP) are available as a combined, separately license-able, high value bundle – the Control Compliance Suite Data Protection Extension bundle. CCS Standards Module automates the detection and management of deviations from technical standards, quantitative assessment of risk and helps customers prioritize remediation tasks. CSP Monitoring Edition provides detection-based monitoring of system/data/application files, registry keys and configuration settings for servers. The combined power of automated assessment of IT controls configurations and monitoring for changes of key system/data files satisfies critical compliance management requirements, and supports multiple regulatory and industry mandates like PCI-DSS. The Symantec CCS Data Protection Extension Bundle 10.5 consists of two products: Symantec Control Compliance Suite version 10.5 and Symantec Critical System Protection Monitoring Edition version 5.2.

- Symantec’s CSP Monitoring Edition product focuses on monitoring and auditing the configuration of servers and provides detection-based monitoring of system/data/application files, registry keys and configuration settings.
Upgrade Information
Symantec will be discontinuing the CCSDPE version 9.0 bundle. Existing CCSDPE 9.0 customers under valid maintenance agreements will receive licenses of the current bundle components. For example, if the customer currently owns the CCSDPE 9.0 bundle Windows®, they are entitled to receive one Control Compliance Suite Standards Manager WIN Server license plus one Critical System Protection Server license. This is an automatic license entitlement and the applicable licenses will be delivered to the customer's license portal.
Please note: Unlike the CCSDPE version 9.0 bundle, the CCSDPE version 10.5 bundle will not include prevention features.
