Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.1. This new version will replace Symantec™ Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0. Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition protects computers and servers with the most effective antivirus, anti-malware technologies available in a single, integrated solution. It will not slow down computers or swallow up system resources. With this release Symantec is introducing discounted 3-year versions of STD LIC, COMP UPG and RENEWAL SKUs. Each of these SKUs delivers a 36-month maintenance term and includes a discount vs. buying a 36-month term using multiple 1-year SKUs.

The administrator is able to define a series of security checks on the device to be enforced. SNACME notifies the administrator of non-policy compliant devices that fail any of the security checks. Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Network Access Control 12.1. This new version will replace Symantec™ Network Access Control 11.0. Symantec™ Network Access Control (SNAC) is an end-to-end solution that securely controls access to corporate networks, enforces endpoint security policy, and easily integrates with existing network infrastructures. Regardless of how endpoints connect to the network, Symantec Network Access Control discovers and evaluates endpoint compliance status, provisions the appropriate network access, provides automated remediation capabilities, and continually monitors endpoints for changes in compliance status. The result is a network environment where corporations can realise significant reductions in security incidents, increased levels of compliance to corporate IT security policy, and confidence that endpoint security mechanisms are properly enabled.  Symantec Network Access Control  can be deployed on its own or it can use the Symantec Endpoint Protection client. For a more complete solution, SNAC should be used with a Symantec Enforcer Appliance.

NEW - Symantec™ Network Access Control Starter Edition v12.1

Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Network Access Control Starter Edition 12.1. This new version will replace Symantec™ Network Access Control Starter Edition 11.0. Symantec™ Network Access Control Starter Edition 12.1 makes it simple to deploy a network access control that can be leveraged as your NAC deployments mature. When paired with Symantec™ Endpoint Protection, it can grant access only to endpoints that comply with your defined security policies by evaluating compliance status, providing automatic remediation and ensuring access is properly provisioned and secured.

What's New:

  • Symantec Network Access Control Starter Edition 12.1 has been updated to support Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

Key Features:

  • Blocks or quarantines non-compliant devices from accessing the corporate network and resources.
  • Hosts Integrity tests against pre-defined templates such as patch level, service packs, antivirus, and personal firewall status, as well as custom created checks tailored for the enterprise environment.
  • Provides pervasive endpoint coverage for managed and unmanaged laptops, desktops, and servers existing both on and off the corporate network.
  • Provides a seamless integration with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.

Upgrade Information:

Free of Charge Upgrade:  Customers with valid maintenance contracts to the following products are entitled to Symantec Network Access Control Starter Edition 12.1 at no charge:

  • Symantec Network Access Control Starter Edition 11.0
  • Symantec Network Access Control 5.1 - All Enforcement Option
  • Symantec Network Access Control 5.1 - DHCP Enforcement
  • Symantec Network Access Control 5.1 - LAN Enforcement

Upgrade:  Version Upgrade SKUs can be used by customers to reinstate lapsed maintenance.
