Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Protection Suite Enterprise Edition for Gateway 4.0. This new version will replace Symantec™ Protection Suite Enterprise Edition for Gateway 3.0. Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition for Gateway safeguards confidential data and employee productivity by creating a protected messaging, Web and network environment.

- Symantec™ Mail Security for Microsoft® Exchange

The Symantec™ Web Gateway URL Filtering Add-on has been added to the SPS Enterprise Edition for Gateway Suite from version 4.0. Customers who purchase this suite will receive this add-on with the other products/features in the solution. For customers of the standalone Symantec Web Gateway product and of SPS Enterprise Edition, the add-on will still be an additional purchase.
What’s new?
This release adds the URL Filtering add-on for Symantec™ Web Gateway. This comprehensive and frequently updated list of suspicious, malicious, and potentially offensive web addresses enables customers to deploy Symantec Web Gateway to enforce Acceptable Use policies on protected corporate networks.
Combined with Symantec Web Gateway’s protection against browser-based attacks, this features enables Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition for Gateway customers to tackle the challenges of policy enforcement and threat protection with a single industry-leading solution. Additionally, this release will enable customers to deploy Web Gateway as a virtual appliance, eliminating the need to purchase additional hardware.
By combining Messaging Gateway and Web Gateway, and deploying both as virtual appliances, customers can utilise their existing infrastructure and deploy a robust gateway security solution from one vendor. Both products also have the ability to act as enforcement points for Symantec Data Loss Prevention Network Prevent for Web (Web Gateway) and Symantec Data Loss Prevention Network Prevent for Email (Messaging Gateway).

Upgrade Information

Crossgrade: Customers with valid maintenance or subscriptions for Symantec Mail Security, Symantec Messaging Gateway (formerly Symantec Brightmail Gateway), or Symantec Web Gateway will be eligible for crossgrades.
