Symantec is announcing Symantec™ Data Insight for Storage 2.5. This new version will replace Symantec™ Data Insight for Storage 2.0. Data Insight for Storage is an innovative technology that addresses key challenges in managing unstructured data in your customers’ environment. In the face of this growth, gain the trust of your customers with a solution that helps them improve storage utilisation through accountability for storage consumption. Customers need a solution that helps them better utilise their existing storage assets and easily implement chargeback for storage consumed. With Data Insight for Storage, become a trusted advisor by helping your customers:
- Identify inactive/orphan data – Find inactive data, orphan data and understand the age of the data. Target your reclamation, archiving and lifecycle management efforts based on this insight. Help them benefit from improved utilisation of existing assets, and ultimately save on storage costs.
- Improve accountability for storage consumption – The key to ensuring efficient utilisation is to hold users accountable for consumption of their storage. Data Insight enables rule-based inference of data owners. Individual users can be mapped to a department or line of business for business-level consumption report or chargeback.
